Magnificent Onoto Fountain Pens in
hallmarked Victory Silver®

Nelson was a prolific letter writer, not only to Emma, although she was the recipient of many of his letters, but also to the other members of his family and to his friends. As a tribute to Nelson’s love of writing, Remember Nelson has commissioned The Onoto Pen Company to produce 2 exclusive pieces in Victory Silver.

Onoto is a British brand, established by Thomas De La Rue and Co Ltd in 1905, responsible for some of the finest writing instruments in the early part of the 20th century.

Although production of Onoto pens ceased in 1958, the brand has recently been resurrected under new ownership and the craftsmen of The Onoto Pen Company are once more producing magnificent fountain pens in exclusive limited editions.

The 2 items selected for this Remember Nelson Collection are:

The Horatio Nelson Onoto Fountain Pen

A superb collector's pen in Victory Silver and blue enamel. The barrel of the pen has been crafted in the style of Nelson's Column, while the cap is intricately enamelled in rich cobalt blue over an engine-turned wave pattern.

The end of the cap bears a gilded silver button based on the fouled anchor buttons found on Nelson's uniform.

The 3 gilded silver bands around the bottom of the cap have been designed to resemble the braid around the cuff of Nelson's sleeve. A silver cartouche with a rope border bears a facsimile of Nelson's signature and his dates.

The pen features an exclusive 18ct gold Onoto nib which is available in Fine, Medium or Broad styles.

The Emma Hamilton Onoto Fountain Pen

Onoto Pen

A delicate design featuring powder blue enamelling over wave-pattern engine-turning and incorporating a 'Nelson and Bronte' pattern based on that which Emma had embroidered around the hem of her dress when she first met Nelson after the Battle of the Nile. A cartouche bearing Emma's signature also features on the cap.

Onoto Pen

The end of the cap bears the Maltese Cross which Emma wore as a pendant in the famous painting by Schmidt which Nelson kept in his cabin on board HMS 'Victory'.

The Emma Hamilton pen features an exclusive 18ct gold Onoto nib which is available in Fine, Medium or Broad styles.
